DESCRIPTION

A beautifully presented atlas compiled by expert lepidopterists at Butterfly Conservation Europe.

Through a combination of historical and current (2012–21) distribution maps, this landmark publication presents vital information about the distribution, ecology, status and conservation of European butterflies.

Following a comprehensive introduction, each species account provides detailed maps and photographs alongside up-to-date assessments of their European distribution, ecology and Red List status. This book identifies the threats that butterflies face and showcases the conservation measures needed to reverse their decline.

By combining the knowledge and experience of key lepidopterists at Butterfly Conservation Europe, including the main authors Sam Ellis, Martin Warren and Chris van Swaay, European Butterflies: A Conservation Atlas represents a significant step forward towards securing the future of Europe's diverse and fascinating butterfly fauna.
