Radiator plant - Peperomia caperata 'Rosso' (small)
Radiator plant - Peperomia caperata 'Rosso' is a popular, compact houseplant known for its deeply grooved, glossy-green leaves and vibrant ruby-red undersides.
Native to the rainforests of South America, this slow-growing epiphyte (it would naturally grow on other plants, especially trees) typically reaches an ultimate height and spread of about 20 to 30 cm.
It is completely non-toxic, making it a safe choice for homes with pets and children.
Size
SMALL - You will receive a healthy, live plant that is well-rooted in a 4cm diameter pot. Plant size is approximately 50mm to 70mm wide/deep by 30mm to 50mm tall.
Flowers
Peperomia caperata 'Rosso' produces tiny, non-showy greenish-white to cream flowers that grow on slender, spike-like stalks stretching vertically above the foliage. Blooming typically occurs from spring to summer when the plant receives ideal light and humidity.
Growing Medium
Use a rich, well-draining soil mix. As an epiphyte, we grow ours in bark chips, which provide good drainage, maintain humidity and mimic the natural surfaces upon which this plant would grow in the wild.
Humidity
Wait until the soil has almost dried out between waterings. Because they store water in their fleshy leaves, they are somewhat drought-resistant. Always water from below or at the soil line to prevent the crown rotting. While they enjoy humidity, they adapt very well to standard household conditions.
Temperature
Prefers an average temperature of 15°C to 25 °C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C
